The 2011 Chief of Air Force Essay Competition (2011 CAFEC) is now open. The Chief of Air Force invites Australian citizens, foreign military serving with the Australian Defence Force and officer cadets at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) to participate in the 2011 CAFEC. Through writing about air power history, as well as contemporary and future issues, CAF is aiming to develop discussion and critical analysis of air power for members of the Air Force and the wider community.

The essay competition is divided into two categories, namely the Wrigley and Middleton Prizes. Each prize has its own target group and topics relating to air power analysis. Entrants are strongly encouraged to read the terms and conditions to ensure that their submissions are congruent with the requirements of each category.
