Confirmation of Registration 

Thank you for registering for the 2018 RAAF Air Power Conference. If, due to your attendee category, you have incurred a cost for registering for the conference, one of our staff members will contact you shortly to complete your registration.

The Conference will be held on Tuesday 20 March and Wednesday 21 March 2018 in the Royal Theatre at the National Convention Centre, Constitution Avenue, Canberra. Entrance to the venue will be via the main entrance on Constitution Avenue. 

Registration - Name Tags and Conference Materials 

There will be three opportunities to pick up your conference name tags and conference materials. It is strongly suggested that you utilise the early times and avoid possible delays on the day of the conference. The pick up times are as follows:

  • Friday 16 March at 10.00-12.00pm in the Ngunnawal Theatre, Russell Offices

  • Monday 19 March at 3.00-5.00 pm at the National Convention Centre

  • Tuesday 20 March from 7.00 am at the National Convention Centre

Delegates are required to wear their conference name tag for the duration of the conference and may be required to show photographic ID to gain entry to the conference venue. Delegates without name tags will not be admitted to the conference venue. 

The Conference will begin promptly at 8.20 am. All delegates are asked to be seated by 8.00 am. 

Provision can be made for the storage of luggage for those delegates arriving in Canberra on Tuesday morning. If you require this service you will need to clearly label your luggage for easy identification and deposit it at the National Convention Centre Front Desk. Please note that there is limited storage space and delegates should leave their luggage at their hotel accommodation where possible. 

Security 

Delegates must produce photographic identification to register for the conference. Delegates must wear their conference pass at all times. Entry to the conference venue will be monitored and personnel without a pass will not be allowed to enter. All delegates will be required to pass through a security screening area, which may include bag searches. Delegates are requested to minimise the amount of personal luggage they bring with them into the conference venue. 

Conference Reception 

The Chief of Air Force, Air Marshal Leo Davies will host a Conference Reception on the evening of Tuesday 20 March 2018 at the National Convention Centre, Canberra from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm, immediately following the last presentation at the Conference. Drinks and light refreshments will be offered ahead of the announcement of the winners of the 2018 RAAF Heritage Awards. 

Your conference pass must be presented to gain entry to the venue for the conference reception. 

Dress

Conference. Dress for the conference is as follows: 

  1. Service Personnel - Normal ‘dress of the day’ for all sessions – no DCPUs or GPUs. 

  2. Civilians - Business attire.

Catering 

Delegates at the conference will be provided with pre-conference tea and coffee, morning and afternoon teas, and a hot buffet lunch on both days. The conference reception will provide drinks and light refreshments. 

Provision will be made in the catering for vegetarian options, but any other dietary requirements should be advised at registration or to the conference organiser prior to attendance at the conference.
