An End to Lawyers?
Advancements in artificial intelligence and associated technologies are having significant impacts on many sectors across society. The legal profession is not immune from these developments. The delivery of legal services, the education and development of legal professionals, and ethical and regulatory frameworks of the profession must be examined to accommodate technological innovation associated with artificial intelligence. Mr Bailes’ presentation discusses how the legal profession has considered these technological advancements and how they affect the practice of law. The experience of the legal profession in examining the impact of artificial intelligence on the legal sector is likely to offer the profession of arms with important considerations and lessons to shape the thinking of military and security professionals on this issue.

US Space Missions: Coping with Technology Disruption
LTGEN(USAF retired) Larry James spoke about the significance of the Australian contributions at Tidbinbilla to the NASA deep space missions and how, together with the other stations, the NASA deep space network provides around-the-clock contact with more than 30 spacecraft, including missions to study Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, comets, the Moon, and soon the Sun the Kuiper Belt.
