What are the components of an autonomous system in the air and space domains?
Air Domain Autonomous System (generic):
- An autonomous control system which is usually on the ground or a ship but may be on another airborne platform;
- An UAV;
- A command and control (C2) system
- On the loop, in the loop, or start the loop personnel.
Space System:
- An autonomous control system which is usually in the ship but may be on another airborne platform, or ground based.
- An platform - specifically designed for the space environment and earth re-entry.
- A command and control (C2) system and communication system.
- Ground based assets.

Key Terms
Autonomous system
A system that determines how to perform the tasks necessary to achieve a defined goal. An autonomous system responds to stimuli in a probabilistic manner and can alter how it performs tasks.
