The Wrigley Prize was introduced in 2010 to promote air power analysis. Submissions contribute to the bodies of work on air power theory and education. The competition added space power theories and concepts in 2021.
The objective of The Wrigley Prize is to encourage and inspire personnel from the military, academia and other professional disciplines to consume, contribute and contest contemporary air power and space power issues and to research, analyse and debate possibilities for air power and space power beyond the future force.
Suggested topics for the 2024 Wrigley Prize are:
- Autonomy in the air domain
- Agile operations for air power
- The evolution of Air Force culture
- Air power in an integrated force
- Achieving asymmetric effects
- Another air or space power topic of the writer’s choice
- Developing Air Force's warfighting mindset
The competition is open to:
- Australian and visiting foreign military personnel
- Australian Public Service staff
- Australian Defence Force Cadets and Staff
- Australian Residents.
Entries are to be in essay form of no more than 3000 words.
