The Wrigley prize was introduced in 2010 to promote air power analysis. Submissions contribute to the bodies of work on air power theory, and education. The competition added space power theories and concepts in 2021.

The objective of the Wrigley Prize is to encourage and inspire personnel from the military, academia and other professional disciplines to consume, contribute and contest contemporary air power and space power issues and to research, analyse and debate possibilities for air power and space power beyond the future force.
