The Wrigley Prize was introduced in 2010 to promote air power analysis. Submissions contribute to the bodies of work on air power theory and education. The competition added space power theories and concepts in 2021.
The objective of The Wrigley Prize is to encourage and inspire personnel from the military, academia and other professional disciplines to consume, contribute and contest contemporary air power and space power issues and to research, analyse and debate possibilities for air power and space power beyond the future force.
Suggested topics for the 2025 Wrigley Prize are:
- What role does autonomy have in the future of Australian air power?
- What impact does agile operations have on a strategy of denial?
- What is air power's contribution to the generation and regeneration of effects in other domains?
- what makes Australian air power unique from that of other countries and how do we exploit this uniqueness?
- Another air power topic of the writer's choice.
The competition is open to:
- Australian and visiting foreign military personnel
- Australian Public Service staff
- Australian Defence Force Cadets and Staff
- Australian Residents.
Entries are to be in essay form of no more than 3000 words.
